New Clip from Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Officially Introduces Inhumans
The Inhumans may not be getting their own movie until 2019, but they're about to be introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a big way. In a new clip from the next Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Skye finally calls her own kind by name, saying the word "Inhumans" for the first time in the MCU:

In the clip, Coulson and Agent May interrogate Skye about her activities with a mysterious group of people who have been afforded powers by the Terrigen Mist. Skye insists that they can be trusted, while Coulson remains skeptical, saying "We don't even know what to call them." Skye immediately answers, "Inhumans," and goes on to explain that the name was used for their ancestors and "we just want to be left alone."

This is not only exciting for fans of the Marvel movies, but is just overall a compelling road for the show to go down. Superhero narratives, and particularly Inhumans, are often great fodder for drawing parallels to real-life discrimination, and Coulson's horror that Skye includes herself in the "we" that refers to Inhumans was disturbingly similar to real-world othering.

The next episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., "Scars," airs tonight at 8pm ET on ABC.
