Captain America Beats Out Iron Man for Most Talked-About Avenger in Age of Ultron
It looks like Captain America has just won the first battle leading up to Civil War, as he narrowly beat out Iron Man for the most talked-about Avenger on social media following the premiere of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Your move, Stark.

Media company Synthesio compiled data on every social media platform they could get their hands on, from heavy hitters like Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube to lesser-known platforms like vKontakte, Maktub, and Youku, in order to gauge which Avenger had the most mentions on social media in the days following the Avengers: Age of Ultron premiere. And on a global scale as well as in the U.S., Captain America was the most "popular" Avenger, showing up in 18.7 percent of online conversation.

Iron Man came in a close second, with 16.7 percent internationally and winning in Europe with 18.6 percent. Those of you who have read the comics know who "wins" Civil War, but this battle was a close call.

The rest of the results aren't all that surprising, as the conversation is mostly proportional to the amount of screentime a character gets. The only possible surprise is Hawkeye, as the early social media conversations about Avengers: Age of Ultron cited him as a breakout character. But according to this chart, he hasn't gained all that much popularity since he was the lamest Avenger in the 2012 film, as he hilariously managed to get social media attention than Loki, who was in 9% of the conversation despite not actually being in the movie.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is now out in theaters, if you're one of the three people who haven't seen it yet.
