Disney's D23 Expo Schedule Announced - Is This Why Marvel is Skipping San Diego Comic Con?
Disney has announced it's schedule for their 2015 D23 expo, which is set to get underway in Anaheim this August, and the line-up is packed full of high-profile previews for some of Disney's biggest projects. Finding Dory (the Finding Nemo sequel) and the live-action Jungle Book project are just two of the big name attractions slated to be previewed at the event, but there's also going to be a significant presence for two of the studio's biggest franchises...Marvel and LucasFilm.

The inclusion of LucasFilm and Marvel is no surprise, but it does perhaps shed a bit more light on a story that broke earlier this year, when James Gunn stated that Marvel would be skipping San Diego Comic Con this year. While those reports have not been confirmed or denied, the fact that Marvel will be having a big presence at the D23 Expo may be the most concrete evidence yet that the comic book giant is foregoing its annual Hall H extravaganza.

The last time Marvel failed to put on a Hall H show at San Diego Comic Con was back in 2011, when the studio opted to preview Avengers at both D23 Expo and New York Comic Con instead. Certainly, with Avengers: Age of Ultron already released and Ant-Man out hitting theaters just days after San Diego Comic Con, having a big presence at the huge West Coast event doesn't make all that much sense. Though it's just a month later, D23 Expo represents a slightly better opportunity for Marvel to tease some footage for Captain America: Civil Wars, which hits theaters in May 2016 and just started filming this week. Similarly, New York Comic Con's October slot will provide an added opportunity for Marvel to release more footage to what they consider their hometown crowd.

With the prospect of Captain America: Civil War teasers and a big presence from LucasFilm, it's safe to say that this could be one of the biggest D23 Expos of all time. Tickets for D23 Expos are available now, and if you want to know which day you should be attending, check the screening schedule out below.
