LucasFilm Reveals the Name of Andy Serkis's Character in Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Things had been eerily quiet on the Star Wars: The Force Awakens news front recently, but that silence has been broken with some new information regarding Andy Serkis's role in the movie. In an article detailing an interview with Annie Liebovitz over at StarWars.com, the name of Serkis's character has finally been revealed. In teasing one of Leibovitz's photos of Serkis, the StarWars.com piece reveals that Serkis will be playing a character called Supreme Leader Snoke.

Snoke will be a brand new addition to the Star Wars Universe, which means details on who or what he is will remain a mystery. Thanks to Liebovitz's photography though, we can at least confirm that the character has been produced using Serkis's extensive skills in motion capture acting. If there is anything else to be gleaned from the photo, it's that Snoke is some form of bad guy. How do we know this? Well, the face Serkis is pulling doesn't exactly scream good guy, does it? Plus, we already know that it is Serkis's character who utters the ominous voice-over from the original Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer. Could it be that Snoke is the Supreme Leader of the First Order?

So, you can add Snoke's name to a growing list of confirmed Star Wars: The Force Awakens characters, which now reads thusly: Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron, BB-8, Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma, and Maz Kanata.

Hear Snoke in action in the trailer below:
