Jurassic World's Bryce Dallas Howard Wants to Play Captain Marvel
Bryce Dallas Howard stars in Jurassic World, which comes out this weekend, and director Colin Trevorrow swears the character is more feminist than she seems in that unfortunate first clip, but that remains to be seen. Regardless, she has her sights set on an indisputably strong female character, as she recently told Cinema Blend that she would absolutely love to play Captain Marvel.

"Oh my God, will you write that? Will you write that please? Yes, let's start a campaign now. That would be rad. Those movies are so fantastic, because talk about just these incredibly drawn characters! That's the joy of the comics, is that you fall in love with these characters and it's who they are that carries you from journey to journey to journey… it's not just about set pieces. It's really about who these people are, and so, yes, I just would love to be in a Marvel film."

Howard has technically played a Marvel character before, as she portrayed Gwen Stacy in the all-around terrible Spider-Man 3. But the Sony films were obviously unconnected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and I'm sure everyone would just prefer to forget about that movie altogether (remember the emo Venom haircut? The nightclub scene? No, let's just forget about it).

Other actresses rumored for the coveted role have included Jessica Chastain, Emily Blunt, and Charlize Theron. Any of these actresses, Howard included, would likely do a wonderful job, although our geek pick is still Katee Sackhoff. Who doesn't want to see Kara Thrace as a Marvel superhero?

Jurassic World comes out in theaters on Friday, while Captain Marvel is slated to be released on November 2, 2018.
