Marvel/Netflix's AKA Jessica Jones Will Now Be Called 'Jessica Jones'
AKA Jessica Jones just got a new title, of sorts, as Netflix has just announced that the "AKA" will be dropped from the title, and the show will now be called the slightly simpler, "Jessica Jones." The change can be seen on the show's Netflix page, and Comicbook.com confirmed the change with Marvel.

Marvel/Netflix's AKA Jessica jones Will Now Be Called Jessica Jones

I personally liked the AKA, as it seemed to reflect the character's sardonic personality, not to mention that it's a throwback to the character's comic book origins, in an acclaimed graphic novel called Alias. But that being said, it would have been a little strange if Jessica Jones were the only Defender whose individual series wasn't solely her name, so I understand why they decided to streamline.

The official synopsis for Jessica Jones reads:

Ever since her short-lived stint as a Super Hero ended in tragedy, Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a hot-tempered, sardonic, badass private detective in Hell's Kitchen, New York City. Plagued by self-loathing, and a wicked case of PTSD, Jessica battles demons from within and without, using her extraordinary abilities as an unlikely champion for those in need... especially if they're willing to cut her a check.

Marvel's Jessica Jones will come out later this year, followed by Luke Cage in 2016, and then Iron Fist and a Defenders miniseries.
