These Original Cast Members Won't Be Back for Heroes: Reborn
Although we love Zachary Levi, the news that original Heroes cast members like Masi Oka and Jack Coleman would return for Heroes: Reborn has been the most exciting part of the reboot thus far. But sadly, there are also many beloved characters who will not be returning, as creator Tim Kring claims that the cast for the revival is pretty much set in stone.

"Everybody who's coming back has been in the press," Kring told EW. "We have a cadre of characters from the previous that will make appearances-some bigger than others, some just in a cameo way. It will be an interesting use of the older characters."

The cast members who have "been in the press" up to this point are Masi Oka as Hiro Nakamura, Jack Coleman as Noah Bennet, Sendhil Ramamurthy as Mohinder Suresh, Greg Grunberg as Matt Parkman, Noah Gray-Cabey as Micah Sanders, and Jimmy Jean-Louis as The Haitian. It was also just confirmed today that Cristine Rose would return to the show as Angela Petrelli.

This means that there are many fan favorites who won't return, including Hayden Panettiere as "save the cheerleader" Claire Bennet, Ali Larter as Niki Sanders, Adrian Pasdar as Nathan Petrelli, Milo Ventimiglia as Peter Petrelli, and Zachary Quinto as Sylar. These names have all been confirmed by EW, but from Kring's statements, it's also safe to assume that Kristen Bell and David Anders won't be making an appearance.

None of this comes as a surprise, as these actors arguably have the most successful careers and most of them have hefty commitments elsewhere. Quinto is tied to the Star Trek franchise, Panettiere stars on Nashville, Ventimiglia just finished a turn on Gotham and is now starring on ABC's The Whispers, Bell is starring on House of Lies and is attached to a Frozen sequel, and Anders is a series regular on the critically acclaimed iZombie.

It's more surprising that Rose and Gray-Cabey are going to return as Angela Petrelli and Micah Sanders, respectively, considering that they were family members of main characters who won't be returning, but hopefully the writers can come up with an organic reason for them to be there.

Heroes: Reborn, which also stars Chuck's Zachary Levi, Once Upon a Time's Robbie Kay, and Orphan Black's Dylan Bruce, is set to premiere sometime this fall.
