Chiwetel Ejiofor to Play Baron Mordo in Doctor Strange
Chiwetel Ejiofor's mystery role in Marvel's Doctor Strange has been revealed, as Deadline reports that the Oscar nominee will play classic Marvel Comics villain Baron Mordo. He will star alongside Benedict Cumberbatch, who will play the titular superhero, and Tilda Swinton, who was recently cast as Doctor Strange's mentor, The Ancient One.

Baron Mordo is a supervillain who was also a pupil of the Ancient One, and first crossed paths with Stephen Strange in the comics when he plotted to kill their mentor. He was also on the top of our list of potential Doctor Strange villains, mostly as a result of the Ancient One connection.

Although he is unquestionably a villain in the comics, his role may be slightly more ambiguous in the film adaptation. Deadline claims that the character is "not completely villainous" and "an amalgamation of characters culled from Doctor Strange's mythology."

Marvel's Doctor Strange will be directed by Scott Derrickson, best known for helming the Sinister franchise, with a screenplay by Jon Spaihts. The film is scheduled to be released in theaters on November 4, 2016.
