Robert Downey Jr. Told Mark Ruffalo Hulk Is in Captain America: Civil War
A few weeks ago, there were rumors that Hulk was joining the Civil War party after Mark Ruffalo sent out an enigmatic tweet with the film's logo. Now, in a recent interview, Ruffalo clarified that he was told by star Robert Downey Jr. that he has a role in the Captain America sequel, but hasn't received official confirmation yet.

"If Robert Downey, Jr. says I'm in 'Captain America,' I'm in 'Captain America' dammit," Ruffalo told Hitfix. "And I will wait for the day that my call sheet shows up at my doorstep or my script. At this point, I'm told that I'm in it by Robert, which I'll take as biblical, but I just haven't heard or seen from production yet."

So it's likely that Hulk will make an appearance in Captain America: Civil War, but still somewhat ambiguous, which explains why Ruffalo has been so coy about it.

If he is in Captain America: Civil War, then it must be a small role, as the movie has already started filming and many of the stars have already been spotted on set. Although we would all love to see Hulk fight Iron Man and/or Captain America, it's probably better for the narrative if he has a cameo role, as Civil War's humongous cast is already a who's who of the Marvel Universe. As it is, the cast is already in danger of being unwieldy, which was the main flaw of the severely overstuffed Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Captain America: Civil War hits theaters on May 6, 2016.
