New Poster and Premiere Date for Heroes: Reborn
Heroes: Reborn is fast approaching, and now we know exactly when to expect it. NBC just announced that the reboot of the beloved (read: controversial) sci-fi show will premiere on Thursday, September 24 at 8pm.

NBC also released a new poster, which is visually stunning but also sort of a copycat from that first Super Bowl teaser

New Poster and Premiere Date for Heroes: Reborn

It would be overstating things to say that we're excited about this reboot, but we can be cautiously optimistic. Heroes may have gone off the rails after the first season, but that was one of the best and most cohesive freshman seasons I've ever seen, and the mythology is both elegant and complex enough to support more stories. (If they're told correctly, that is.)

It also helps that several original Heroes cast members are returning, including Greg Grunberg as Matt Parkman, Jack Coleman as Noah Bennet, Noah Gray-Cabey as Micah Sanders, Jimmy Jean-Louis as the Haitian, Sendhil Ramamurthy as Mohinder Suresh, Cristina Rosa as Angela Petrelli, and most importantly, Masi Oka as fan favorite Hiro Nakamura.

But on the other hand, several favorites will be missing, including Hayden Panettiere as Claire Bennet, Ali Larter as Niki Sanders, Adrian Pasdar as Nathan Petrelli, Milo Ventimiglia as Peter Petrelli, and Zachary Quinto as Sylar. This won't be a death knell for the series, as at least a few of those characters had run their course, but it's sad as a fan of the original.

Heroes: Reborn also stars Chuck's Zachary Levi, Once Upon a Time's Robbie Kay, and Orphan Black's Dylan Bruce. Billed as a "miniseries," it will consist of 13 hourlong episodes with (presumably) the option to renew for a second season.
