Batman: Arkham Knight Promises to Reveal 'How the Batman Died'
Batman: Arkham Knight goes on sale today, and according to Variety, it includes a storyline that reveals "how the Batman died."

Arkham Knight is the final installment in the Batman: Arkham video game trilogy, beginning with Arkham City in 2011 and continuing with Arkham Origins in 2013. The events of the plot take place nine months after Origins and (spoiler!) the death of the Joker, which leaves Batman with a sense of loss and the feeling that his bond with his archnemesis went deeper than he could admit. He goes up against his new enemy, the Arkham Knight, who has teamed up with the Scarecrow to take over Gotham, along with classic villains Harley Quinn, Two-Face, and Penguin.

The gameplay allows players to drive the new-and-improved Batmobile through the city, as well as switching the vehicle from high-speed "pursuit mode" to military-grade "battle mode." There is also a "dual-play" feature that allows gamers to switch between Batman and other heroes, such as Robin, Catwoman, and Nightwing.

Like the previous installments, the game has received overwhelmingly positive reviews, with critics praising the visuals, the voice acting, and the worldbuilding. There have been reported glitches in the PC version, but Warner Bros. insists that they're working on the problem.

Batman: Arkham Knight is available now for Sony PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox One and Windows PC.
