Marvel/Netflix's Daredevil Casts Elektra for Season Two
After months of rumors, Marvel and Netflix have officially confirmed that Marvel superheroine Elektra will appear in Daredevil's season two. She will be played by Elodie Yung, an actress best known for her roles in the original Swedish adaptation of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and a starring role in G.I. Joe.

In the comics, Elektra is a ninja assassin and occasional love interest of Daredevil. She is an expert fighter and also has some telepathic abilities, such as the ability to "throw" her mind into others'. She is famously murdered by Bullseye, who is also rumored to appear in Daredevil's season two.

It's unknown exactly how Elektra will be incorporated into the show, except that the casting call describes her as "a mysterious woman from Matt Murdock's past whose dangerous and exotic ways may be more than he can handle."

Elektra was previously portrayed by Jennifer Garner in the widely hated 2004 film Daredevil and the equally despised prequel spin-off, 2005's Elektra. Garner is a wonderful actress, but we're happy the character will get another treatment in the hands of proven and capable writers.

Daredevil's season two will start streaming on Netflix sometime in 2016.
