LucasFilm to Announce Colin Trevorrow as Director of Star Wars Episode IX at San Diego Comic Con
Will LucasFilm have anything left to say by the time they take to the Hall H stage at Comic Con today? After announcing a Han Solo prequel movie, and confirming they will not show any Star Wars: The Force Awakens footage, it now seems that one of LucasFilm's big announcements has leaked, just hours before their 5pm panel slot.

Perennial rumor mongers, Heroic Hollywood, are claiming that one of the big reveals during the Star Wars Comic Con panel would be the news that Colin Trevorrow has been selected to direct Star Wars: Episode IX. After directing the record breaking Jurassic World, Trevorrow is an understandable choice, but we must remember not to get too carried away because Umberto Gonzalez has even deigned to reveal that the information is even coming from an inside source.

If this is true, it means that JJ Abrams will not be returning to direct the final installment of a trilogy he is set to kick off with Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It would also mean that there will be no trilogy directing job for Marvel's main man, Joss Whedon.

Is Trevorrow the right man for the job? Is this a rumor that Umberto Gonzalez may actually get right? We'll find out the answer to the latter, at least, at 5pm PT today.
