Ripley and the Hicks Return in New Concept Art for Neill Blomkamp's Alien
Neill Blomkamp's upcoming Alien movie is arguably one of the most-anticipated sci-fi projects in Hollywood right now, which means that every opportunity to catch a glimpse of the South African director's plans for it is being jumped on and scrutinized by fans. One such opportunity has just arisen, with Blomkamp sharing a new piece of concept art for the movie, featuring a couple of Alien franchise's most iconic faces

Yes, that is Ellen Ripley, and yes that scarred figure does appear to be Michael Biehn's Hicks. Of course, Sigourney Weaver and Michael Biehn's appearance in concept art for Blomkamp's Alien should come as no surprise. The pair have been very open about their involvement on the project, but that openness doesn't make seeing them in their space overalls once again any less exciting.

Weaver in particular has been very open about the project, and while she was on a promo tour for Blomkamp's CHAPPIE, she echoed the director's sentiment that this latest Alien should really get back to where it all started, with the first two movies. In fact, it was actually working on set with Weaver that inspired him to start thinking about an Alien project, picking Weaver's brains about what a new Alien movie should look like. It was then that Weaver reportedly started to sow the seeds about having a movie that was more closely tied to the first two in the franchise, Alien and Aliens.

Here are a couple of other concept pieces for Blomkamp's movie.

As of yet, there is no release date or production date scheduled for the Blomkamp's Alien movie, but the director has confirmed it will be his next project.
