First Teaser for Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Animated Series
Guardians of the Galaxy is Marvel's Cinderella story, the crowning achievement in which Marvel managed to take little-known (read: almost completely unknown) comic book characters that include a sentient tree and a brash talking raccoon and turn it into a major franchise. A film sequel is coming in 2017, but until then, we'll have the animated series coming to Disney XD to get our Guardians of the Galaxy fix.

Here's the first teaser for the series:

Considering that it's only fifteen seconds long, a lot happens in this teaser. We get explosions, some Rocket Raccoon snark, and, of course, Groot's now-iconic catchphrase. It features all of the members of the team, including Boy Meets World's Will Friedle as Star-Lord, Stargate: Atlantis's Trevor Devall as Rocket Raccoon, Star Wars Rebels's Vanessa Marshall as Gamora, The Flash's David Sobolov as Drax, and Avengers Assemble's Kevin Michael Richardson as Groot.

The official synopsis for the Guardians of the Galaxy series reads:

Opening quote
Guardians Of The Galaxy follows the newly-formed team who finds a strange artifact keyed only to the DNA of Peter Quill. Upon opening it, Quill unleashes a treasure map leading to a powerful weapon known as the Cosmic Seed which is capable of giving birth to the next universe. It's up to the Guardians to find, protect and ultimately destroy the Cosmic Seed in order to keep it out of the hands of those who would abuse its power, from galactic big boss Thanos, to the conniving brothers the Collector and the Grandmaster, to a resurrected Ronan, to the ultimate trickster, Loki, in order to save the universe.
Closing quote

The Guardians Of The Galaxy series premieres with two back-to-back episodes on Saturday, September 26 at 9:30pm ET on Disney XD. The first episode will also air as a sneak preview on Saturday, September 5 at 9:00pm ET.
