Zack Snyder Hints His Son Will Play Robin in Batman v Superman
The rumor that Zack Snyder's son, Eli, will be playing Robin in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has been spreading like wildfire. The rumor was set in motion yesterday, with Heroic Hollywood reporting that Eli Snyder will appear in the film as Robin in flashback scenes where he is brutally murdered by Jared Leto's Joker. And today, Zach Snyder posted a photo with his son to his private Instagram account with the cryptic caption "Boy wonder?" attached. Thankfully, Batman v Superman photographer, Clay Enos, reposted the photo on his own public account, allowing us the chance to do some wild speculation:

On the one hand, Snyder's message could simply be poking fun at the most recent crazy fan theory about Batman v Superman, making a joke with his friends. But on the other hand, Snyder's words could also be seen as a teaser and confirmation of the recent rumor, especially since Enos saw fit to repost it publicly.

Zack Snyder is also in the habit of giving his son cameos in his films; Eli played a young Leonidas in 300, a young Rorschach in Watchmen, and also had a small role in Sucker Punch. The young Snyder is also the right age and build for the role, and with the defaced Robin suit making an appearance in the Batman v Superman trailer, it wouldn't be hard to imagine that a flashback scene of Joker killing Robin might be included in the film (especially since virtually every single DC fan in the universe wants to see that famous murder scene brought to life).

So will Eli Snyder be our new Robin? We may have to wait for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to find out for sure. But if he is, it could have major consequences for the future of the DCCU. For instance, if Eli's Robin is Jason Todd, could this mean that Eli could potentially appear as the Red Hood in future films? So far, all of his roles have been minor ones, so it definitely seems unlikely at this point. But Eli is right about at that age when many young actors get their chance to breakout and show the world what they can do, so I wouldn't count it out just yet.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice premieres on March 25, 2016.
