Is Felicity Jones's Star Wars: Rogue One Character Connected to Boba Fett?
There has been plenty of speculation as to who Felicity Jones will be playing in Star Wars: Rogue One, with a slight lead given to Hera from Star Wars Rebels. But now, according to regular rumor monger Umberto Gonzalez of Heroic Hollywood, Jones is playing none other than Boba Fett's daughter.

Gonzalez shared this rumor on Meet the Movie Press, approximately 52 minutes in:

Opening quote
The rumor is, in Star Wars: Rogue One, Felicity Jones is reportedly playing the daughter of Boba Fett... If that does turn out to be true, then maybe that will segue into a [Boba Fett] standalone movie.
Closing quote

Gonzalez claims this rumor comes from "a very trusted source," but clarifies that he's specifically refraining from running it on his own site until it's more confirmed, so we should take this with the biggest grain of salt. Plus, this same video claims that Channing Tatum won't be Gambit, so we may not want to take it too seriously.

But on the other hand, the rumor might actually make some sense. The anthology films are meant to expand the Star Wars universe, with new characters and new stories, but the studio knows that the fans will be more invested in Felicity Jones if she's somehow connected to an established character. Plus, it would then connect Rogue One to the Boba Fett solo movie, and both of those movies to the new trilogy, and we all know that everyone wants to copy Marvel's interconnected universe.

Rogue One, like Star Wars: Rebels, is chronologically set between the prequel and original trilogies. An official synopsis hasn't been released, but it will likely follow Rebel soldiers as they attempt to steal the plans for the Death Star. Jones, Ahmen, and Luna all play Rebels, while Mendelsohn is expected to play a villain. The Hunger Games's Sam Claflin is also rumored to play an undisclosed role, and there have been rumblings that Darth Vader himself may make an appearance.

Star Wars: Rogue One will hit theaters on December 16, 2016.
