Doctor Strange Described as 'Psychedelic,' Will Be Marvel's Fantasia
It's still very early to draw any conclusions about Doctor Strange, but the earliest descriptions indicate that it may very well live up to its name. Cinematographer Ben Davis opened up about the visual style of the movie, and he described it as "dark" and "psychedelic" (all good things), and even compared it to Disney's Fantasia:

Opening quote
"It has a very psychedelic grounding, and it's not your typical Marvel action movie," said Davis. "Most of the work within it is about other dimensions. And I described it, I think, when I was talking to Marvel as Marvel's Fantasia, in a way, because it's so sort of out there and different to everything else that they've done."

This all sounds very exciting to me, as I've always thought that Fantasia was one of the most underrated Disney movies out there. It's visually fascinating, and that Night on Bald Mountain scene, while probably not appropriate for children in retrospect, was truly haunting. Doctor Strange could do a lot worse.

Opening quote
"It's all very out there," he said. "I can't really say much more about it, I'm afraid. But I think it'll be really interesting, and it's a very dark movie, I'm pleased to say."
Closing quote

Marvel's Doctor Strange stars Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role, with the Sinister franchise's Scott Derrickson directing from a screenplay written by Prometheus's Jon Spaihts. Rachel McAdams is currently in talks to play the female lead. The film hits theaters on November 4, 2016.
