Matt Ryan's Constantine Confirmed for Arrow's Fourth Season
Constantine fans are getting a (fairly small) consolation prize today, as The CW announced at the TCA press tour that Matt Ryan's Constantine will make a guest appearance on the next season of Arrow.

I'm sure Constantine fans would rather get a second season of the prematurely canceled show than a guest spot in one episode, but to be fair, it would have been much more difficult to see a crossover if the show had kept going. While it was on the air, Constantine hailed from NBC, and there was no indication that it lived in the Arrow/Flash/Legends of Tomorrow universe, in either content or tone.

But still, they're both DC Comics heroes, and the Matt Ryan/Stephen Amell bromance has been going on for a while. Amell was a vocal supporter of Constantine; when it was first canceled and was being shopped to other networks, he offered to guest star on the show if another network would save it:

It would be even better for Constantine fans, and interesting to see, if Constantine became a regular or even recurring character on Arrow. But this solution likely makes the most sense, as the characters don't really mesh in the long term. It will be fun to see their dynamic for one episode, especially since Amell and Ryan seem to get along so famously, but we're guessing that will be it for this iteration of the character.

Arrow returns for its fourth season on October 7 at 8pm on The CW.
