Star Wars Make-Up is Coming: Disney Announces New Promotional Partners for Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Star Wars: The Force Awakens just announced six new promotional partners, and some are weirder than others. Some, like Duracell, General Mills, Verizon, FCA, and Subway, are par for the course, but they also inexplicably signed with Covergirl & Max Factor. We'd love to see Darth Vader trying and failing to put on makeup without taking off his mask (although since Vader won't be in the new film, it will probably be a sexist anti-aging commercial).

Earlier this year, some of the Covergirl packaging was leaked online, and as you can see the links between the product and the Star Wars franchise are tenuous at best.

But when it comes to Star Wars, bizarre and tenuous advertising is all just part of the journey. Here are 8 examples of some bizarre Star Wars advertising, from Underoos to Greenpeace.

Underoos

File Boba Fett dancing with children wearing him on their underwear in the "things you never knew you needed to see" category.

Burger King

McDonald's

Brisk

It's "double saber delicious!" (Whatever that means.)

Spike Golf

Because who wouldn't want to use The Force to kill golfers?

Volkswagon

Of course consumer products will help your child discover The Force, because this is America.

Anti-Volkswagon Greenpeace commercial

Greenpeace took issue with Volkswagon's message of empowerment, and instead portrayed the car company as the Death Star, about to destroy Earth like it destroyed Alderaan.

Target (but really Heidi Klum)

Am I missing something? What in God's name does this have to do with Target?

Star Wars: The Force Awakens stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Max Von Sydow. It will be directed by J.J. Abrams and written by Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan. The film comes out in theaters on December 18.
