First Official Image from Agent Carter Season Two Reveals the New Boss
After the explosive (literally) events of Agent Carter's first season, the gang needs a new SSR chief, and the first set photo from season two confirms that they've chosen a worthy successor:

This doesn't come as too much of a surprise, as most of the supporting cast has been cut, so there weren't too many options. But on the other hand, Chad Michael Murray's Agent Thompson has been confirmed to return as well, and we might have expected him to get the gig, as he showed himself to be extremely calculating last season. Co-showrunner Michele Fazekas said of the SSR's role in the second season:

Opening quote
"Thompson has taken over SSR New York, but he's also not the head of the whole agency. And keep in mind, the SSR was somewhat based on the OSS, and we know this because when Markus and McFeely wrote Captain America[: The First Avenger], that was their inspiration. The OSS was somewhat disbanded after the war, because it was created because of World War II. So now that the war is over, things are changing. And in real history, the OSS sort of became the CIA and some of its other functions went under other departments. There's a little bit of change going on within SSR and so Thompson has a boss that's going to be saying, "Look, things are changing, and you need to look out for yourself."
Closing quote

This is just a set photo, but the cast was probably close at hand, as Agent Carter began filming last week, and Hayley Atwell already has some war wounds from stunt training:

Agent Carter season two is set to air during midseason 2016 on ABC, during the hiatus of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
