Netflix Agrees Deal to Make New Episodes of Charlie Brooker's Sci-Fi Series Black Mirror
Streaming giant Netflix is close to securing an agreement to create new episodes of Charlie Brooker's brilliant dystopian sci-fi drama series Black Mirror, according to reports. The UK's Radio Times, a generally reliable source, is suggesting that negotiations between Netflix and Brooker's House of Tomorrow production company are in the closing stages, as Netflix looks to secure the rights to new episodes of the hit show.

Initially aired on the UK's Channel 4, the Sci-Fi anthology series became a huge hit in other territories thanks to Netflix. Featuring one-off episodes exploring Brooker's uniquely dark take on what our future has in store for us, Black Mirror has attracted a host of top drawer talent across the span of 2 seasons and one Christmas special. Starring Jon Hamm, the 2014 Christmas special (White Christmas) was the latest installment in the series, but it is yet to travel across the pond and land on the Netflix streaming platform.

A deal between House of Tomorrow and Netflix will likely see North American audiences receiving new episodes of Black Mirror at roughly the same time as their friends across the pond. Brooker is said to be well on the way to completing the scripts for those new episodes, which means season 3 could reach our screens as early as mid-2016.

In the past, Black Mirror has told engrossing stories about digital immortality, our fascination with the media, and a future in which social media habits become part of our physical everyday lives. Hayley Atwell, Domhnall Gleeson, and Toby Kebbell are just some of the many talented actors to have appeared in the series so far.
