Hop on Rey's Speeder Bike in New Interactive Star Wars: The Force Awakens Video
Star Wars: The Force Awakens will introduce several new worlds into the Star Wars universe, including Jakku, the vaguely Tatooine-like desert planet that serves as a home base for new characters Rey and BB-8. Now, Disney and Lucasfilm have released a new, interactive, 360-degree video via Facebook that allows you to explore the planet on Rey's speeder bike:

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Immersive 360 Experience

Speed across the Jakku desert from Star Wars: The Force Awakens with this immersive 360 experience created exclusively for Facebook.

The one-minute video resembles a video game more than a teaser, as you can use your mouse to explore a 360-degree perspective at any point in the video. The viewer takes the perspective of the driver of Rey's bike, and BB-8 can be heard in a background near the end. The video shows the vast landscape of the scavenger planet, including the wreckage from the Battle of Jakku, the conflict alluded to in the teasers in which a Star Destroyer crashes to the ground.

We'll find out more about Jakku when The Force Awakens comes out, but you can explore the landscape even further before then, as Star Wars: Battlefront includes a playable version of the Battle of Jakku.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens on December 18, with showings in IMAX theaters beginning on December 17.
