Get Your Earth Porn Fix With NASA's New 4K Highlight Reel from the ISS
The astronauts of the International Space Station are hard at work studying both extraterrestrial and terrestrial phenomena while out in space, and now NASA has posted an amazing highlight reel of the crew's images and videos of our home planet:

Our only complaint is that the video is only one minute long, because the imagery is stunning. But the images taken aren't only for "Earth porn" purposes; studies on the ISS are monitoring many metrics on our home planet that directly affect the human population, such as climate research, weather predictions, hurricane monitoring, pollution tracking, disaster response, and more.

The images are in 4K resolution, as they were taken with the ISS's groundbreaking RED Epic Dragon Camera, which started shooting high-resolution footage in January 2015. It's capable of shooting up to 300 frames per second, which allows it to reveal more information in images used for scientific investigations. And while 4K is ideal for movie theater screens, the footage is still shot at a higher fidelity than other cameras, so it has a higher resolution even if you're just using a normal computer screen.
