eBay Launches World's First Virtual Reality Department Store
Whether you love it or hate it, shopping can at times be a bore. Searching for a parking spot, dealing with the crowds, and not being able to find the product you want are just a few of the things that can drive even the most hardened shopper crazy. To some extent, online shopping has made life much easier, but many feel that the experience is somewhat lacking even if it does allow you to get pretty much everything you need from the comfort of your own home. After helping to kickstart the age of online shopping, eBay is looking to take the experience one step further by launching the world's first virtual reality department store.

Developed in association with Australian retailer Myer, eBay has created a new way to shop online. Using a smartphone app and a set of 'Shopticals' (a fancy word for Google Cardboard), users can browse hundreds of products using nothing but their eyes.

The partnership in Australia is up and running, and eBay is hoping they can gather as much data on people's shopping habits as possible. That data will be used to make improvement to the app, with a view to launching it in other markets in the near future.
