Watch a Firefighter With a Water-Powered Jetpack Fight a Simulated Fire
Sometimes you just have to stop yourself and say "Hey, I'm living in the future." Because if someone told us that there is currently a method of fighting fires that involves a lone firefighter rocketing across a bay on a jet ski, then blasting himself into the air with a water-powered jet pack to shoot a blaze with a firehose, we would first say "Such things cannot exist in the 21st century!" followed by "Sounds like a Michael Bay reboot of Backdraft." But lo and behold, it is a real thing:

We will admit that this seems like an incredibly expensive and impractical method for fighting fires (surprise, it's been pioneered in Dubai, where the leading cause of death might as well be 'gold dust inhalation'), but we don't really care. We look forward to a future where small children can zoom a jetski around a bathtub, pretending to singlehandedly fight waterfront blazes with their water-jetpack. Because if that's not being a hero, we're not sure what is.
