Reality TV Series Will Send Celebrities To Space

A new reality show is about to break into the final frontier by pitting celebrities against one another for a chance to be sent into space. Milky Way Mission will initially be broadcast on Dutch TV and feature predominantly Dutch celebrities, but if successful, the show's creators are confident the concept can be applied to territories like North America. After all, the Dutch gave us Big Brother and that was and still is a hit show across the world!

Running for 10 weeks, Milky Way Mission will post 10 celebrities in an astronaut bootcamp where they will undergo all the training necessary for a trip into space. Each week will provide new challenges for the celebrities to overcome, with only the mentally and physically tough standing a chance of making it into the next week. The show will climax in the middle of the Mojave desert when one lucky celebrity will be selected to briefly venture outside of Earth's atmosphere.

If successful, Milky Way Mission could prove to be a timely boost for another proposed reality TV series. Mars One is still in the process of collecting applications for what would be a much more daring feat...to spend the rest of your life on Mars. Still, Milky Way Mission is a nice first step and we're already compiling a list of people we would most like to see sent into space...
