Mad Scientist Builds Terrifying X-Men Gadgets

British inventor Colin Furze built a real-life flamethrower in order to imitate the powers of the X-Men villain, Pyro. Using this gadget, he shot 12-foot flames from his wrist.

The gadget emits propane at a rate that is fast enough to create a long flame, but slow enough that it doesn't burn Furze's hands. It requires him to use two hands, one to fuel and one to light the fire. This is actually more in keeping with the character, who needs a lighter to spark his flames. His power only allows him to manipulate flames, not create them, so he wears a suit with a built-in flamethrower, much like Furze.

This is the last in a series of crazy X-Men-inspired inventions by Furze, which included automatic extendable and retractable Wolverine claws, and Magneto shoes, magnetic shoes that allowed him to walk on the metal ceiling of his garage.
