Expedition 45 Astronauts Channel Star Wars to Take the Jedi Order to the International Space Station
As if being an astronaut wasn't a dream job already, it now brings the added perk of being able to pose as your favorite sci-fi warriors as well! The International Space Station's Expedition 45 astronauts won't be united in orbit until September, but they've already shot to the top of our all time greats list thanks to their official pre-expedition poster, which depicts the group as Jedi Knights from Star Wars!
What's makes this poster so great are the details. Using the iconic Star Wars logo to spell out Space Station and sneaking in the Death Star next to Scott Kelly are both great, but it's whoever decided to turn that satellite into a makeshift X-Wing that really deserves the plaudits for this poster. Expedition 45 will consist of astronauts Scott Kelly, Mikhail Korniyenko, Oleg Kononenko, Kimiya Yui, Kjell N. Lindgren, and Sergey Volcov, though it's not clear who is responsible for this slice of sci-fi gold. Funnily enough though, E45 aren't the first bunch to use classic movies as the inspiration for their official portraits....
