Explore and 3-D Print the Asteroid Vesta with NASA's New Interactive Maps
If you ever wanted to explore the asteroid Vesta, here's your chance. NASA has released an amazing set of interactive maps that give glimpses into all the nooks and crannies NASA has discovered on the asteroid's surface.

"There's nothing like seeing something with your own eyes, but these types of detailed data-visualizations are the next best thing," said NASA's Kristen Ericksonin a statement. "We're thrilled to release Vesta Trek to the citizen science community and the public, not only as a scientific tool, but as a portal to an immersive experience that, just by the nature of it, will allow a deeper understanding of Vesta and asteroids in general."

And not only can you become a virtual astronaut via your computer screen, you can also use these maps to create a Vesta in your own home. The maps have 3-D printer-compatible topography that allows you to print whichever sections of the asteroid you'd like. Or, NASA has provided the files already if you want a full model of the asteroid.
