Neil deGrasse Tyson's 'Star Talk' Show Renewed for Season 2 Before First Episode Airs
Taking their cue from The Walking Dead and Star Wars Rebels, National Geographic has shown a great deal of confidence in beloved astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson and renewed his late night talk show, "Star Talk," before the first episode has even aired.

The show is a spin-off of Tyson's podcast of the same name, which discusses similar topics he covered in Fox's recent Cosmos remake. In the show, which is filmed for a live audience at the Hayden Planetarium in New York City, Tyson brings on celebrities, scientists, and other special guests to talk about space travel, futuristic science, and humanity becoming AI's pet labradors, among other things.

"Cosmos allowed us to share the awesome power of the universe with a global audience in ways that we never thought possible," Tyson said when the show was first picked up. "To be able to continue to spread wonder and excitement through Star Talk, which is a true passion project for me, is beyond exciting. And National Geographic Channel is the perfect home as we continue to explore the universe."

The second season of Star Talk will consist of ten hourlong episodes, to air next year on National Geographic.
