Watch: What the Night Sky Would Look Like If Celestial Bodies Were Closer to Earth
Amateur astronomers can see some celestial phenomena with backyard telescopes, but what if we could all see them from our backyards? Russian space agency Roscosmos re-imagined our night sky, complete with traffic, streetlights, and telephone poles, if some of the most beautiful celestial bodies were right next to us:

The video is in Russian, but the English subtitles handily tell us that the bodies included in the video are the Andromeda Galaxy, the Whirlpool Galaxy, the Crab Nebula, and more. The finale is the most impressive, as it imagines a black hole rising like the sun above suburban houses, and it looks just like that scientifically accurate black hole in Interstellar. In reality, the answer to the question, "What would happen if a black hole were right next to us?" would be "We'd die," but it sure does look pretty.
