Stephen Hawking Will Conduct His First Reddit AMA Next Week

If you've ever wanted to ask one of the greatest minds in theoretical physics a question, any question at all, here's your chance. None other than Stephen Hawking will conduct his first Reddit AMA for a full week, starting on Monday, June 27.

For the most part, when public figures take part in a Reddit AMA, they take and answer questions over a few hours. But as a result of his slower communication methods, Hawking's AMA will work a little bit differently, and he will be taking questions for a full week, starting on Monday and ending on Tuesday, August 4. The AMA will open for questions at 8am ET at the science subreddit, /r/science.

The AMA is specifically geared towards artificial intelligence, likely as a result of Hawking's inflammatory assertion that AI could spell the end of the human race. But the questions will not be limited to AI, and I'm sure there will be plenty of questions about theoretical physics, which is, of course, his area of expertise, or about the possibility of finding alien life, since he just signed an open letter pledging $100 million dollars to the search for extraterrestrial intelligence
