Could We Ever Actually Live on Mars?
Mars is very on trend right now. Whether you're talking about disastrous missions to the Red Planet, such as the one seen in The Martian or Curiosity's latest exploits on the planet, everyone from science junkies to semi-curious geeks have developed a fascination with our closest planetary neighbor. Some people, such as Elon Musk believe that Mars holds humanity's best hope of survival after the inevitable destruction of Earth (through man-made or natural processes), and while the idea of living on Mars may seem exciting, we should probably stop and ask ourselves whether or not it's actually possible.

Enter Mari Foroutan with this brilliant Ted Talk on what it would actually take to live on Mars. Turns out, all you need is a high tolerance to freezing cold and radiation, coupled with an overwhelming desire to just get away from it all.

So, if you happen to be one of those successful Mars One candidates or just have aspirations to put distance yourself from the rest of humanity (forever), a trip to Mars may be for you. While Mars may be a perilous choice of settlement (dust storms and a lack of oxygen are a bit of a challenge), it does promise to be a beautiful one.
