NASA's New App Gives You a Scientifically Accurate Look at 1,000 Exoplanets
NASA is working hard to explore our solar system, with manned missions to Europa, Mars, and more in the works for the relatively near future. But now, anyone can explore the distant exoplanets that NASA won't be able to reach anytime soon using their "Eyes on Exoplanets" app.

The app gives the user a scientifically accurate, 3-D view of over 1,000 exoplanets that have been discovered thus far. One click can bring you thousands of lightyears into the distance to explore other solar systems and get in-depth looks at planets that are known to orbit other stars.

Opening quote
"With the click of a mouse, you can visit newly discovered gas giants, Earth-sized planets and 'super Earths'-rocky like ours, but gargantuan," NASA said in a statement. "The program is updated daily with the latest finds from NASA's Kepler mission and from ground-based observatories around the world as they hunt for planets like our own."
Closing quote

And in case you're actually planning a trip to destination exoplanets, the app also allows you to calculate how much time it would take you to travel the distance to the planet by car, train, bullet train, jet plane, or starship (the most likely option). You can also compare exoplanets to planets in our solar system using a special overlay, and last but not least, you can search a star's habitable zone for planets that may potentially hold alien life.
