First Reaction to Secret Deadpool Screening Calls It 'Freaking Awesome'

We all really, really want Deadpool to be great, and while the trailer was encouraging, promotional materials can be deceiving. But now, we have a possible first reaction to a full screening of the film, courtesy of Heroic Hollywood, and apparently the movie is "freaking awesome" and star Ryan Reynolds "was born for this role."

According to the report, 20th Century Fox held a secret screening on their lot, and the moderator claimed that it was the first time a finished cut of Deadpool had been screened. Heroic Hollywood's "covert special ops ninja" was in attendance, and he said of the film,

Opening quote
"My overall opinion of the movie though: it's really freaking awesome. Ryan was born for this role. The characters were great, apart from the villains, and their interactions were well written. The action sequences unlike anything in a comicbook movie before, probably because of the graphic nature of the character."
Closing quote

The ninja had a few quibbles, such as the perceived abruptness of the ending, but overall he had nothing but praise, as well as a few mildly spoiler-y details about the unexpectedly significant connection to the X-Men franchise and Stan Lee's obligatory cameo:

Opening quote
"It was a little interesting that the whole movie [Collosus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead] were trying to recruit Deadpool into the X-Men and at one point towards the end, Deadpool ends up going to Xavier's mansion. I think I was a bit confused as to when this movie took place, it seemed like modern day but I wasn't sure how far after the Days of Future Past timeline fix.Stan Lee's cameo in the strip club was also pretty funny."
Closing quote

Honestly, we think it's very likely that Deadpool will be great, but this report should still be taken with a grain of salt. There's no way to know whether this is true or not, and even if it is, it's just one person's opinion of an admittedly "really, really rough cut." But then again, I think that you can tell a lot from the trailer, especially Ryan Reynolds's performance. I'm always skeptical of hype, but I 100% believe that Ryan Reynolds was born for this role, if only because he's so openly passionate about it.

Deadpool hits theaters on February 12, 2016.
