Leaked Star Trek Beyond Set Photos Reveal More New Aliens, Giant Trampolines, and Captain Kirk
We still haven't seen any official Star Trek Beyond footage, but luckily there are amateur iPhone paparazzi all over Dubai, ready and waiting to leak photos of the actors on set. Now, the newest set photos reveal more new alien species, people jumping on giant trampolines, and Chris Pine's Captain Kirk filming a scene:
There seem to be several new species introduced into the Star Trek franchise in the upcoming film. The first official on-set footage revealed Kingsman: The Secret Service actress Sofia Boutella as a mysterious white-skinned alien who will apparently play a lead role, but it seems that the extras will play new types of aliens as well, some of which look a little like Eric Stoltz in Mask.
There's also a great photo of actors jumping on giant trampolines. We assume that the trampolines themselves won't be in the movie, but will play a role in the special effects, unless that's part of the "futuristic city" that Dubai is supposed to represent, which honestly we would be okay with.
The photos also show Chris Pine's Captain Kirk meeting with a Starfleet official. Pine will be joined by returning co-stars Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, and Anton Yelchin, while Idris Elba joins the cast as a villain who is not a Klingon.
Star Trek Beyond comes out in theaters on July 22, 2016.
