Batman v Superman Might Be the Most Expensive Movie Ever
Ridiculous recent rumors suggested that the budget for the two Avengers: Infinity War movies is going to top a billion dollars, which would roughly double what was spent on Avengers: Age of Ultron for each film. While that figure is almost certainly untrue, a new rumor is suggesting that another big superhero team up, Batman v Superman, might be the most-expensive movie ever. Just how much is it reported to cost? A still insane, but slightly more believable, $410 million.

This rumor comes from Latino Review, who are notoriously hit or miss with their scoops, but if they're correct here it would make some sense. Warner Bros. needs this movie to hit and hit hard if they expect to be able to compete with Marvel over the next several years, and sparing no expense on its production may be the route they're taking to ensure that happens. The site speculates that the film's costs blew up thanks to its ever-expanding cast, practical sets, and a production schedule that ran long.

If the $410 million figure holds up, that would put the film in the company of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides as the most-expensive ever produced. That film is in the books for $410.6 million, but it still managed to make money by bringing in over a billion dollars at the box office and has a sequel in the works. However, a bigger budget doesn't necessarily mean a better movie (rarely, we'd say), as On Stranger Tides was the most-poorly reviewed film of the Pirates franchise.

We probably won't know the official budget of the film for another few months at least, but of this much we're certain: Batman v Superman is going to be huge.
