What to Watch This Week: Supergirl Premiere, Ash vs Evil Dead and George R.R. Martin on Z Nation
< >
After a disappointing season for new shows, two of the most highly anticipated shows are here: Supergirl and Ash vs. Evil Dead! Here are all the sci-fi and comic book shows to watch this week, including the first mainstream female superhero show, a reboot we actually want to see, and a deadified George R.R. Martin.

Monday, October 26th

Gotham - 8pm on Fox

The gender-swapped Firefly is here and running amok, Kringle and Nygma's relationship goes to the next level, and Penguin and Galavan continue to fight for control of Gotham's underworld.

Supergirl series premiere - 8:30pm on CBS

The buzz around Supergirl has come a long way since the first trailer and those none-too-flattering comparisons to the Black Widow SNL skit, and it's now one of the most anticipated new shows of the year. We've seen the pilot, and it's good, closer to early Flash than early Arrow in quality (or, *shudder*, Gotham for that matter). Melissa Benoist is an irresistably charming lead, much like Grant Gustin, and we can't wait to see what this series has in store.

Minority Report - 9pm on Fox

Is this not cancelled yet? Vega, Agatha, Arthur, and Dash all work together in the upcoming episode to help a sick girl who could be saved by modern technology, but lives in a community that forbids it.

Tuesday, October 27th

The Flash - 8pm on CW

The real Harrison Wells arrives from Earth 2 just as another Firestorm comes into play, although Caitlin has reservations about whether he's the right match.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - 9pm on ABC

Unfortunately we probably won't get any answers about whether a certain character really died last week, but we do finally learn what happened to Simmons during her six months on an alien planet.

iZombie - 9pm on CW

Someone's killing off country music stars, which should be great fodder for jokes about the most-hated musical genre out there. Let's hope it's as amusing as the wonderful and underrated God Bless America.

Limitless - 10pm on CBS

Bradley Cooper returns to the show this week to reprise his role as Eddie Morra! Nice guy that he is, he demands an extremely high price for a further inoculation as Brian's physical and mental health begins to deteriorate.

Wednesday, October 28st

Arrow - 8pm on CW

Welcome back Sara! In an episode directed by the incomparable Lexi Alexander (Punisher: War Zone), Sara is back in full force, and none too pleased about it.

Star Wars Rebels - 9pm on Disney XD

Sarah Michelle Gellar wields a spinning lightsaber as Kanan discovers the presence of a new Inquisitor.

Thursday, October 29th

Heroes Reborn - 8pm on NBC

What happened to the cheerleader? This week, we learn what really happened to Claire, albeit sans Hayden Panettiere.

Friday, October 30th

Z Nation - 10pm on Syfy

George R.R. Martin finally makes his highly anticipated guest appearance as a zombie of himself. What could be better than that?

Scout's Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse

This movie looks really dumb to us, but dumb can sometimes be funny, so what do we know? Boy scouts try to save the world from a zombie apocalypse, and have a raunchy coming-of-age story along the way.

Saturday, October 31st

Ash vs Evil Dead series premiere - 9pm on Starz

Of course Ash vs Evil Dead is premiering on Halloween! Bruce Campbell returns as reluctant hero Ash, who is tasked with saving the world from a zombie apocalypse caused by his own stupidity with none other than Xena Warrior Princess (Lucy Lawless) by his side.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy - 9:30pm on Disney XD

Nova Corps apprehends Titus when he tries to infiltrate the Nova Corps on Xandar, while the Guardians infiltrate a notorious gang of weapons dealers called the Black Order who have been sighted on the desert planet of Eilsel 4.

Doctor Who - 9pm on BBC America

Osgood returns, alien pods grow in secret caverns, and Zygons invade on this suitably creepy Halloween episode of Doctor Who.

Sunday, November 1st

The Walking Dead - 9pm on AMC

After this week's major character death (maybe), we fill in the blanks of the background of fan favorite character Morgan, from the time we left him in season three to his triumphant return as a pacifist ninja.

The Leftovers - 9pm on HBO

Matt takes his vegetative wife outside of Jarden to seek answers about her condition, and then is barred from returning to town.
