Dan Stevens Joins Anne Hathaway in Creature Feature "Colossal"

Dan Stevens has just joined Anne Hathaway and Jason Sudeikis in the monster sci-fi movie "Colossal." Hathaway is set to star as the protagonist, while Stevens will play her ex-boyfriend who sets out to win her back.

According to Variety, the film "follows a woman who moves back to her hometown after losing her job and boyfriend in New York, only to discover that she is somehow strangely connected to a giant creature that has materialized over Seoul and is wreaking havoc on the city."

Judging from the cast and summary, it seems that this will be a big-budget actioner that caters to the ever-valuable international demographic, but will also be somewhat offbeat. It has been touted as "Godzilla meets Lost in Translation," which sounds just crazy enough to work. Hopefully it will give Hathaway, Sudeikis, and Stevens the chance to do real character work, as they're all talented actors, and we especially loved Dan Stevens in sci-fi indie The Guest.

Colossal will be written and directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Nacho Vigalondo, best known for his debut feature, Timecrimes, and his work on V/H/S: Viral. The film is currently in production in Vancouver.
