Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 Script and Soundtrack Are Finished, and More from James Gunn's Twitter Q&A
Against all odds, Guardians of the Galaxy became the runaway hit of 2014 and one of the most popular Marvel movies ever, in large part as a result of the silly, strange, joke-heavy script and the now-classic soundtrack. Luckily, it seems that all of those elements will be back in full force for the sequel, as GoTG director James Gunn is solely responsible for both the script and the soundtrack, both of which are already finished.

Not only is the soundtrack finished, but Gunn managed to wrangle the rights for all of his first-choice songs:

Marvel is still giving James Gunn what seems like unprecedented creative freedom, which can only be good news for fans hoping for an equally offbeat and charming sequel:

Considering how positive his experience has been, it seems like Gunn will be open to another sequel, but he's not committing to anything yet:

In other news, that last elusive Easter Egg from the first movie still hasn't been discovered, and according to Gunn, we may never find out what it is:

Gunn also revealed in his Q&A that there is a special "Groot script" with translations of Groot's "I am Groots," which only he and Vin Diesel are allowed to see:

And then there were a few fun facts:

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is slated to hit theaters on May 5, 2017.
