Michael Douglas Confirms He's in Negotiations to Return for Ant Man and The Wasp
Of the many great elements in Peyton Reed's Ant-Man, it was perhaps Michael Douglas and Michael Pena's supporting turns that got the most rave reviews. Pena's comic relief grabbed the majority of headlines, but in conversations with fans, it's Douglas's Hank Pym that got everyone the most intrigued. With 'Ant Man and The Wasp' now confirmed, the question of whether or not Pym would return has been seen as increasingly important to fans of the Ant-Man property. Now, in a conversation with Collider, Douglas gave the reassuring news that Marvel have contacted him about returning for the sequel.

Opening quote
I just got a call recently – they want to negotiate for a sequel and I thought "That's great!" Hopefully, I won't have to carry quite as much expositional dialogue as the first one but I had a wonderful time doing it. Just a great, great time. The cast was fantastic. Paul, Evangeline, Michael Pena – I'm sure he'll be back. If they can scrape Corey Stoll off the wall, I'm sure they'll want him too – he's such a good villain. And Peyton too. It was a lovely experience, so you know, I welcome it. I chuckle about being involved with a movie that already has a release date in 2018. Ya know, it's hard to conceive of that, but it's all good, all the way around, it's all good.
Closing quote

Clearly Douglas had an absolute blast making the first Ant-Man movie, so these negotiations should hopefully be fairly straightforward. We're not sure about scraping Stoll off the wall, but Douglas is one hire we desperately want Reed and co. to make.

If it means we get more of this, it's impossible to feel unhappy about this news.

Ant Man and The Wasp is scheduled for release on July 6th 2018.
