Frank Miller Is Returning to Write The Dark Knight IV
Dark Knight III: The Master Race, the highly anticipated follow-up to the classic Frank Miller comic The Dark Knight Returns and its sequel, The Dark Knight Strikes Again, was previously billed as the "final chapter" of the Dark Knight series. But now, it seems that Miller isn't ready to let go of Batman just yet, as he just confirmed that he will be writing a fourth (and supposedly final) part of the series.
Opening quote
"I thoroughly applaud what [Brian Azzarello is] doing. But now that he's doing his, it's now a four-part series," Miller told Newsarama. "I'm doing the fourth."
Closing quote

Miller and Azzarello both have writing credits on The Master Race, but it seems that the third part is mostly Azzarello's baby. As a result, Miller has decided to put his own distinctive spin on the Dark Knight one last time (maybe).

DC Comics seems to understand that fans want to see more stories that take place in Miller's Dark Knight universe, as they recently announced a prequel comic, a one-shot called Dark Knight Returns: The Last Crusade, from the same creative team as The Master Race. Both The Master Race and The Last Crusade will be illustrated by legendary comics artists Klaus Janson and Andy Kubert, the former of whom worked on the original Dark Knight Returns.

The first issue of Dark Knight III: The Master Race comes out on November 25, while The Last Crusade hits comic book stores on February 17, 2016.
