Daredevil Season Two: Jon Bernthal's Punisher Is "The Comics Character Come to Life"
Between a new costume, the arrival of Elektra, and rumors of Bullseye, there's plenty to be excited about in Daredevil season two. But Jon Bernthal's Punisher is probably the most highly anticipated aspect of the new season, and we got our first look at him in the NYCC trailer:

He already seems perfect for the role, but the above teaser only shows us a tiny glimpse of the character. Luckily, Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada claims that his interpretation of the character will be just as true to the comics as we're all hoping, and also says he "would love" a spin-off solo series:

Opening quote
"I think we'd love to see something happen, but it's way too soon to tell, and we don't necessarily like to discuss which metrics we use to decide these things," Quesada told IGN. "But what I can tell you is anyone who is a hardcore Punisher fan is going to be blown away and incredibly satisfied by Bernthal's take on Frank Castle. It's one of those cases where it's the character from the pages come to life."
Closing quote

Granted, Quesada probably wouldn't say anything negative about Bernthal's performance, but we'd believe it. Bernthal has been openly researching some of the most classic Punisher comics, including "Punisher: War Zone-The Resurrection of Ma Gnucci," "Punisher: Max," and "Punisher: Circle of Blood." All of these comics show Frank Castle at his darkest and bloodiest, so hopefully Bernthal's take will live up to that.

Marvel/Netflix's Daredevil season two is set for release sometime in 2016.
