Mark Hamill Talks About Keeping the Big Secret of Luke Skywalker's Mysterious Role in Star Wars Episode VII
Anyone who's been keeping up with the news about Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens knows that one of the biggest mysteries thus far is concerning what has become of the franchise's biggest hero, Luke Skywalker. Now the Jedi himself, Mark Hamill, has gone on the record with Games Rader about this year's biggest kept secret:

Opening quote
I have something coming out where there's an amount of money that if it leaks, because of me, I don't get that payment[…]I'm good about keeping secrets, I'm proud of the fact that I knew a year and a half before anybody else that he was actually dad Vader […] Now it's happening all over again. I'm not even authorised to tell you I'm in Episode VII, it's all secret.
Closing quote

For those who may be wondering, Hamill was actually being interviewed about a new video game he's contributing to – that's why he's got motion capture 'dots' all over his face. Hearing him speak out about his role in Episode VII was a pleasant surprise, and from the sounds of it, the big secret about his character could be just as big as the Episode V twist, when it was revealed that (spoilers): Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's father. It was also interesting to hear that Hamill never revealed the Episode V twist to anyone – not even his wife! Apparently it even came as a surprise to fellow actor Harrison Ford.

From the sounds of it, whatever's in store for Luke in Episode VII is going to be HUGE. Will he turn to the dark side, as many have surmised? Is he already dead? Will he have little Luke Skywalkers traversing the galaxy far, far away? Abrams and co. have done a bang up job keeping the secrets of Episode VII under wraps, even after releasing a handful of trailers and TV spots. With less than a month to go, it looks like fans may actually be treated to a genuine surprise when Hamill finally hits the big screen on December 18th.
