Marvel's Doctor Strange Will Visit Dormammu's Dark Dimension
We all know that Chiwetel Ejiofor is playing Marvel Comics villain Baron Mordo in Doctor Strange, which made it extremely confusing when Marvel announced that Mads Mikkelsen would be playing the main villain. Many fans speculated that he would be playing Dormammu, whom Doctor Strange calls his "most terrible foe," but we've had no confirmation as of yet. Now, Kevin Feige confirms that we'll be seeing the Dark Dimension in the movie, which just so happens to be where Dormammu was banished:

Opening quote
"We see glimpses of something called the Dark Dimension," Feige told Empire (via Comicbook.com). "If you were to open a Doctor Strange comic drawn by Steve Ditko, you would see the Dark Dimension, is in fact, very colorful in an extremely psychedelic way. Those are the things we're not shying away from."
Closing quote

The Dark Dimension is where Dormammu and his brother, Umar, were banished by the Faltine, who were ruled by Dormammu. Feige's admission isn't a confirmation that Mads Mikkelsen will be playing this villain, as it is possible that the "glimpses" will set up the villain for future installments, but it does seem to make it more likely. Plus, Marvel must be well aware of their pervasive villain problem by now (with the exception of their Netflix shows), so we'd be surprised if they didn't use Dormmamu, who is one of the most powerful mystical beings in the Marvel universe. He's also even more powerful in the Dark Dimension, so we'll have that to look forward to as well.

Doctor Strange comes out in theaters on November 4.
