Stephen Amell Is Contracted to Play Arrow Until 2019
Recently, rumors have been circulating that Stephen Amell would leave Arrow after season five, jumping ship to another long-running CW show: Supernatural. Now, Amell has taken to Facebook to assure fans that he is contractually obligated to play Oliver Queen for at least seven seasons, or three more years.

This isn't too surprising, as the rumors seem fairly baseless. A few outlets started reporting that Amell might jump ship because he loves wrestling, there's a wrestling episode coming up on Supernatural, and Amell hasn't been shy about sharing his love for the show on social media:

Facebook... I keep reading that I'm leaving Arrow. I'm not. I have a contract that runs through 2019. At least. Now......

If Arrow were ending, it would sort of make sense for Amell to join Supernatural, if only because he has the look down pat. But as of now, there are no plans for Amell to even guest star in the show; in response to a fan asking whether he would appear, he said, "If they asked me, sure? If I was available, sure. Have they asked me? No. Would I be available? No."

I can't imagine that Amell would leave Arrow before it ended on its own, as it can't really continue without him. And although he's only contracted for seven seasons, he can easily renew it after that, which he will likely do if it's still going, unless he decides to pursue more movie roles.

Arrow returns with new episodes on January 20 on The CW.
