What to Watch This Week: Colony Series Premiere, iZombie Returns, and More
We weren't sure about Colony, but it's getting pretty great reviews so far, and we have positive associations with it from that amazing Uber trick they pulled at San Diego Comic Con (we're suckers for advertising, like any true American). Colony is the highlight of sci-fi television this week, as the midseason premieres mostly kick in next week, with the notable exception of iZombie, which comes roaring back with what looks like a top-form, charming episode.

iZombie - 9pm on CW The Expanse - 10pm on Syfy Wednesday, January 13th Second Chance - 9pm on Fox Thursday,
iZombie finally returns this week! Liv is heartbroken to find out that the lead actor on her favorite TV show, "Zombie High," has been killed on set (so she probably solves his murder, right?).
Miller comes across revealing information on a hidden data cube while Holden and the crew are surprised by their host's secret agenda.
Second Chance, aka Frankenstein, aka The Frankenstein Code, aka Lookinglass, has the most generic, boring name we can think of (although it is, granted, less stupid and confusing than Lookinglass), and from the promotional materials, it's an all-too-appropriate name for this procedural take on Mary Shelley's classic novel. Who wants to bet that this is the Minority Report of 2016?

The end of civilization is approaching, but will anyone care? Erica is busy planning the apocalypse with the help of Tommy, Malina and Luke team up to stop them as Quentin and Phoebe plot against them, meanwhile Matt Parkman is just looking out for his own and might kill Erica's daughter in the process. Yawn.
Colony - 10pm on USA
Colony is getting surprisingly great reviews so far, and we're excited to see Lost's Josh Holloway finally get another role that shows off his talents. If Second Chance is probably the next Minority Report, then here's hoping Colony is the next Mr. Robot.
