Rumor: Two Avengers Will Die in Captain America: Civil War
If you've read the Civil War comics, then you know that one particular Avenger is very, very likely to die at the end of Captain America: Civil War. But according to a new report, there will be another significant death on the Avengers team, and the Russos have shot four death scenes in order to prevent (or, rather, misdirect) leaks from set. And I'll give you room to get out before spoilers, but I'll say this: if this is true, I will be furious.

Possible spoilers for Captain America: Civil War ahead!

According to That Hashtag Show, the Russos have filmed four death scenes for the Avengers. The first, as many would guess, is Captain America, who dies at the end of the Civil War comics. Out of the remaining three, only one is rumored to actually occur in the movie. We don't know exactly how reliable this report is, but they claim to have had intel on a similar report for Avengers: Age of Ultron. In that case, death scenes were filmed for both Hawkeye and Quicksilver, but only the latter's death came to pass.

Possible spoilers ahead! (Click to reveal)

For Captain America: Civil War, the Russos reportedly filmed death scenes for War Machine, Scarlet Witch, and Falcon. That Hashtag Show speculates that Scarlet Witch is the most likely, as War Machine is shown to be gravely injured in the trailer, so that's probably a red herring, and Falcon would be the most promising candidate to replace Steve Rogers as Captain America, as he's done in the comics.

I agree that Scarlet Witch is more likely than Falcon, since we'll need a Captain America replacement, but I don't think she seems very likely, either. She's only just started her journey as an Avenger, and she's had a great reception with the audience. And with all of the controversy surrounding diversity lately, you would think that they would keep Wanda, if only so there's a proportion of women on the team that approaches reasonable (although Falcon and War Machine are both black men, so there are really no good options here).

I hope this isn't true, since it wouldn't work just on a narrative level. If anyone has to go, I vote for Hawkeye. What good is a bow and arrow doing for anyone? They'll need Scarlet Witch to fight against Thanos in Infinity War.

Captain America: Civil War comes out on May 6.
