DC Comics Still "Has Plans" for Teen Titans TV Show
Last month, it was announced that TNT had officially passed on the live-action Teen Titans TV show, leaving the project seemingly dead in the water. But according to DC Comics' Geoff Johns, we may still have another Teen Titans adaptation in our future. Days after the news broke, he revealed that DC still "has plans" for the beloved comics property:

Opening quote
"We [at DC] have known about [TNT nixing Titans] for months and months and months. That's not new news to us. We have plans for Titans," Johns told TV Line. "It's a huge piece of DC and we have plans."
Closing quote

This is fairly vague, so it's unclear whether they may try to shop the show at other networks, or whether they might try for another type of adaptation. Since they already have an animated series in Teen Titans Go!, it seems unlikely they'll go that route, but it also seems unlikely that the show will go forward exactly as is, considering that TNT president Kevin Reilly cited script problems as the reason the network passed on the series:

Opening quote
"Akiva [Goldsman] is a talented guy, [but] the script just wasn't there," Reilly said at TCA (via THR). "There is an unbelievable glut of superhero things in the market right now and if you have a really good one, clearly people are up for it. But I just don't think that there's a need for one that, for me, at least on paper didn't seem to be screaming to get made."
Closing quote

Akiva Goldsman has proven himself to be a talented writer, as he was responsible for the Oscar winning script of A Beautiful Mind, as well as several other acclaimed films like Cinderella Man and I Am Legend, and many episodes of underrated sci-fi series Fringe. (He also wrote Batman Forever and Batman and Robin, but we won't speak of that.) So it's possible that he will rework the script and it'll be shopped to another network, or maybe the entire project will be scrapped and they'll go in another direction, possibly a movie or an entirely new live-action series. But either way, we hope that this property gets a proper live-action adaptation, because with the right script, the Teen Titans would make for a completely charming and fun teen show that would be completely at home at The CW and in the Flarrow universe.
